International Women’s Day and the entire month of March is a time to highlight and commemorate all that women have achieved - past, present, and future. Revry honors their contributions to our history and society, and to provide recognition and encouragement of a more inclusive future. 

Women have been left out from our history and overlooked far too often. Women’s History Month is a time to showcase the talent and creativity that lives within our female-identifying community. Directors, actresses, writers, and more; we’ll be interviewing creative and inspirational women who make a difference with their art.

Alli Guerra is an actor, comedian, and writer, known for ‘With You For Life’ and ‘Lez B Real.’ ‘With Your Life’ won Best Comedy at the Women's Only Entertainment Festival and was an official selection at the Women In Comedy Festival, DAMN! Film Series, LGBTQ Shorts Film Festival, & Qfest St. Louis, and ‘Lez B Real’ was a part of the 2020 QueerX Festival.

What does Women’s History Month month mean to you? 

Women's History month means celebrating progress while remembering there's still work to be done. As a creator, it's a call-to-action to uplift the voices of and make space for more women in front and behind the camera.

There are so many unacknowledged women who made history. Is there a women creator that has impacted your work? 

Shonda Rhimes has always had a huge impact on my work. I'd hardly say she's unacknowledged by history, but I don’t think people give her enough credit for revolutionizing and coining what we know today as the 'dramedy' format. Watching Grey's Anatomy and Callie's coming out storyline as a not-yet-out high schooler is what inspired me to get into script writing and producing my own content.

History is inspirational to future generations. What advice would you give the next generation of women creators? 

Keep putting yourself out there by creating your own content and posting it online. Everyone will have an opinion about your work, and not everyone will be a fan. But when your work means something to you, your passion will jump off the screen — and eventually your people will find your work.
