Showcasing Life Through Music

David Mallory

In this profile series, Revry is highlighting authentic contributors to the LGBTQ media and entertainment community. We ask questions to find out who they are and where they are going in the future. The questions remain the same but the answers tell their unique story. It’s time to explore and celebrate true representation beyond the limits of Hollywood.

Davis Mallory is a pop singer-songwriter known from MTV’s THE REAL WORLD 2006. Davis has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry and has been featured in multiple hit TV series/movies and publications. With songs like WITHOUT YOU I FEEL GOOD and FORGET YOU, he continues to consistently release new music. This year, he released an album titled LITTLE VICTORY and a brand new single titled DARE.

What are you best known for?

Known from MTV’S THE REAL WORLD (Denver) and MTV CHALLENGES (Inferno/Duel/Rivals) I have made a new name for myself as a featured vocalist for DJs internationally with renowned acts Retrovision, Going Deeper, John Dhalback, Landix, DJs From Mars, to list a few, and music signed to record labels including Warner Denmark , Hardwell’s label Revealed, Don Diablo’s label Hexagon, EDX’S label Sirup, Arman Van Buuren’s label Armada, Cedric Gervais’ ’ label Delecta + more. My music has been supported on radio by some of the industry's biggest DJs including Tiesto, Morgan Page, Don Diablo and been featured on TV/Movies including MTV’S WAR OF THE WORLDS, HULU’S GOOD TROUBLE, & Snapchat original series GROWING UP IS A DRAG. Recognized on a national level, my music has been featured in Billboard, Huffpost, Perez Hilton, Popdust, US Weekly, People. I came out publicly on television in 2006 (on the REAL WORLD) at a time in history when not too many had done so yet. Raised in a religious Christian household and singing in his church choir in Georgia, I am now sober for just over four years, living in Nashville, TN, and dedicating time to help others recover from addictions, too.

What's the first song you wrote?

The first song that I wrote and released is titled BEAUTIFUL GIRLS (DIEM’S SONG) in 2014 is a tribute to my MTV co-star Diem Brown who sadly lost her battle to cancer at a young age. The song debuted in People Magazine and can be heard here https://fanlink.to/beautifulgirls

What are you working on that no one knows about yet?

In 2021 I filmed several music videos in Miami and Las Vegas - one of them that I'm most proud and excited for is called LIFELINE which will showcase people dealing with life's issues (depression, suicide, human trafficking, drug/alcohol addictions) and end with a list of resources for those who are seeking help. The video is directed by multi-award-winning Russian cinematographer Dmitry Zhitov and the music is produced by Israeli DJ Allouche with an undecided release date.
