In this profile series, Revry is highlighting authentic contributors to the LGBTQ media and entertainment community. We ask questions to find out who they are and where they are going in the future. The questions remain the same but the answers tell their unique story. It’s time to explore and celebrate true representation beyond the limits of Hollywood.

Ms. Aneesh Sheth (she/her/hers) is a singer, actress, producer, director, writer, and transgender activist. Born in Pune, India, she relocated to the United States at an early age. She is most notably known as "Gillian", assistant to the titular character, in the third and final season of Netflix's Marvel’s JESSICA JONES. Aneesh made her network debut as a guest star on NBC's Thursday night sitcom OUTSOURCED and has since appeared in DIFFICULT PEOPLE, HIGH MAINTENANCE, NEW AMSTERDAM, and most recently THE OTHER TWO. She also made a cameo in IFC's A KID LIKE JAKE, alongside Jim Parsons, and can be seen as a principal in FIRST ONE IN on Amazon Prime. Currently, she can be seen as “Jan” in the final season of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD. Along with her work, Aneesh sits on the Board of Directors for The Sappho Project and is an event host, trans activist, and panelist. In March 2013, Advocate Magazine honored Aneesh Sheth on their 40 Under 40 List and in January 2020 she was awarded the HRC Visibility Award at the HRC Annual Gala for her activism and advocacy. She is currently represented by Take3Talent and managed by 1022m Management.

What are you best known for?

As Gillian in the third season of Marvel’s JESSICA JONES.

What is the first thing you acted in?

The first thing I acted in was a play called HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD when I was 6 years old in my church’s basement, but professionally I made my professional stage debut at 18 in a regional production of GODSPELL, and my television debut in 2011 in NBC’s OUTSOURCED.

What are you working on that no one knows about yet?

It was just announced that I am part of the final season of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD. Truly an honor to be a part of this legacy!
