FAQ

You have questions, we have answers.

What does “Revry” mean and how do you pronounce it?

“Reverie” is a three-syllable word that means a fantastic or visionary idea. “Revry”– on the other hand–is pronounced with only two syllables (rev – ree) but we like to think we share the definition with our linguistic inspiration.

Who is Revry?

Revry is a community of diverse queer, allied, and multi-cultural filmmakers, artists, musicians, creators, and visionaries who are committed to amplifying the voices of our community by showcasing the entire spectrum of the queer experience through multiple media formats and types of storytelling. Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, Revry is led by an inclusive team of queer and allied partners who bring decades of experience in the fields of tech, digital media, and queer advocacy to their passion for the service.

What is Revry?

Revry is the world’s first global queer streaming network. Revry offers its members a uniquely curated selection of domestic and international entertainment that includes iconic narrative and documentary films, cutting-edge series, groundbreaking podcasts, music albums and videos, and the most original queer-focused content in the world. Available worldwide on seven “Over the Top” TV devices (e.g. Apple TV, Amazon Fire, etc.), mobile, and online platforms, Revry also has linear channels on three networks including, Pluto TV, XUMO, Zapping TV and will premiere more channels before the end of the year.

What makes Revry different?

Revry is about true inclusivity and diversity, in the content and format. Revry represents all the colors of the rainbow: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gender-fluid, queer, questioning, and allied. In addition, Revry embraces points of views and stories often overlooked and underrepresented in the traditional media with an emphasis on POC (People of Color) voices. But our commitment to diversity doesn’t just stop there: unlike many other digital streaming services, Revry celebrates short-form content in a way that has never been seen before! This is why we have made short-form digital content – including digital series, music videos, pure audio music, and podcasts – the backbone of our service.

Is Revry just for queer audiences?

Everyone is welcome to enjoy Revry. We are about inclusivity–plain and simple. Some of our content is about LGBTQ+ characters, some is created by LGBTQ filmmakers, some content features stories about straight characters that simply live in an LGBTQ-inclusive world, and other content is just pure fabulous fun. However, unlike many mainstream services that may feature queer characters but are otherwise made for the masses, Revry is, unapologetically, queer and made for the queer community. Ultimately, it’s this community’s tastes, aesthetic, and mission that we serve.
