Lorena Lourenço é diretora, escritora e produtora premiada do Rio de Janeiro e ex-aluna da USC School of Cinematic Arts. Aos 28 anos, a carioca tem uma paixão por contar histórias de perspectivas marginalizadas que destacam a identidade do povo, as experiências migratórias e a força feminina. 

Seu curta “Muy Gay Too Mexicano” foi selecionado para várias competições, recebeu o prêmio como um dos melhores do Festival Latino Internacional de Los Angeles (LALIFF) e está sendo distribuído pela HBO Max americana. A obra mostra a dualidade com a qual seu protagonista tem de lidar por ser gay e mexicano enquanto se prepara para um encontro.

Translated: Lorena Lourenço is an award-winning director, writer and producer from Rio de Janeiro and a former student at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. At 28, the carioca has a passion for telling stories from marginalized perspectives that highlight the identity of the people, migratory experiences and female strength.

Her short “Muy Gay Too Mexicano” was selected for several competitions, received the award as one of the best at the Los Angeles International Latino Festival (LALIFF) and is being distributed by HBO Max in the United States. The work shows the duality with which its protagonist has to deal with being gay and Mexican while preparing for a date.
