Kate Jessop (She/Her) is a multi award winning Animation Director based in Brighton, UK. She has worked across narrative film, comedy, illustration, live visuals, music video and has undertaken artist residencies in Berlin, Istanbul and Reykjavik. She was selected for the Berlinale Talent Lab both with her portfolio as a director and with her comedy series TALES FROM PUSSY WILLOW chosen for development in the Project Lab. What are you best known for?

I am best known for my work in Queer Animation making films such as LITTLE ELEPHANT, THE QUEER HEROES series and TALES FROM PUSSY WILLOW the adult animation comedy series. My works were written about in was written about in the first ever book on Queer Animation: On LGBTQ2S Animation published by Quickdraw in Canada, 2020.

What is the first thing you worked on?

I started out doing club visuals in Manchester UK then was approached by local Comma Press to work with them on some poetry films based on some of their published prose. My first film DESIRES represented the UK in the Best of Women in Film and TV, was shortlisted for the Virgin Media awards and was picked up for distribution by Shorts International global distributor

What are you working on that no one knows about yet?

I am developing PUSSY WILLOW into a more sci-fi realm….watch this space!
