Top 10 Most Popular LGBTQ Media Profiles of 2021 (so far)
This year, Revry has featured over 60 LGBTQ artists, directors, producers, writers, musicians and more in our series of profiles. In each profile we highlight an authentic contributor to the LGBTQ media and entertainment community and celebrate true representation beyond the limits of Hollywood.
We took a look to see which were the most popular profiles of 2021, from January to June. Each one of these individuals is an amazing talent and contributor to our creative community.

10: Vickie Sampson
Vickie Sampson is an award-winning producer, writer, director, and film and sound editor. She has over 200 credits of sound work, including Academy Award winning films. She has written, directed, produced and edited three award winning short films and many commercials. With over 40 years of experience, she has won four Golden Reel Awards and an Emmy.
9. Deven Green
Deven Green is an LA-based award winning comedy and musical performer, originally from Canada. She’s known for playing her satirical character Betty Bowers “America’s Best Christian”, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge, Goliath Magazine’s advice columnist, and as a live performer all across the US with the top drag queens of the world.
8. Alex Crozier
Alex Crozier is a New York based independent artist. He co-produced, directed, and choreographed a show called ‘MILLENNIALS’, which was then reformatted into an award winning film called ‘The Millennial Experience.’ The premise of the show and film is to focus on culture appropriation and gay culture within the Millennial generation.
7. Jesse C. Turk
Jesse D. Turk is an LA-based director, writer and producer who also has a strong theater background. His most recent work is a drama called ‘The Takeback’, which follows the story of a gay man who steals from his one night stands to cope with his vulnerability. His storytelling is best described as “representing the LGBTQ+ community in unexpected and dynamic ways.”
6. Cole Jenkins
Cole Jenkins is an actor and writer known for Life Is Easy, a Revry original comedy web series that takes a lighthearted approach to the intricacy of sexuality, gender, and race. The New Zealand native creates his stories from his own perspective as a white gay man, while also introducing marginalized groups and creating a space for all to be welcome and represented.
5. Sarah Rachel Lazarus
Sarah Rachel Lazarus is a writer, performer, comedian, producer, and host of popular podcast ‘Wish U Were Weird’. 'Wish U Were Weird' is a comedy/pop culture podcast that features wide range of iconic celebrities like Carole Baskin from Netflix's Tiger King, Bob The Drag Queen (Ru Paul's Drag Race Winner), Daniel Franzese (Mean Girls), Brittany Broski (Tik Toker/Kombucha Girl), and many more. Her digital comedy series ‘A Sip With Vodka: A Russian Guide To Becoming A Real Housewife & Making It In America’ also showcases the talents of notable drag performers, Broadway stars, and comedians.
4. DeAndre Upshaw
Standing at 6 feet 7 inches, DeAndre Upshaw does not come short on his list of talents. He is a model, a lifestyle, fitness, and wellness coach, a professional cinematographer, editor, and more. He uses his platform and artistry as a way to show real transparency through his journey as a Queer Black American, which can be seen on his Instagram @heyitsdeandre!
3. Amber Rivera
Amber Rivera is an editor and producer. Her most recent series ‘BIFL’ is described as “an LGBTQ Series about twenty-somethings who are Trying Their Best”. As a collaborator and creative storyteller, she strives to bring out positive representation of the LGBTQ+ community through her work.
2. Chase Michael Torrence
Chase Michael Torrence is an actor, writer, director, and producer known for his film, ‘Box: A Digital Love Story’, and web series, ‘Mixed Boy Joy’. As a gay Black man of mixed race, Chase decided to leave his small conservative town to pursue his dreams of creative storytelling and move to Los Angeles. Chase uses his work as an opportunity to highlight underrepresented communities and states, “I hope that when my time comes to leave this earth that I am remembered as someone who used his story, his traumas, his life experiences, and his point of view to change the world.”
1. Sonari Glinton
Meet Sonari Glinton, podcast host and NPR personality. He has covered economics and politics for nearly two decades from Barack Obama’s run for the Senate to chronicling the economic recovery from Coronavirus. Sonari’s journalism career began with an investigation he produced about the Chicago Juvenile Temporary Detention Center where he confronted his journey as a Queer Black person through others eyes. Now, as a producer, reporter, and podcast host he reflects on how those interactions have shaped the way he presents himself today.
