In this profile series, Revry is highlighting authentic contributors to the LGBTQ media and entertainment community. We ask questions to find out who they are and where they are going in the future. The questions remain the same but the answers tell their unique story. It’s time to explore and celebrate true representation beyond the limits of Hollywood.

What are you best known for?

I would say I'm best known for my looks. Both the makeup and the outfits, the whole ensemble. Imaa Queen is known to never wear the same outfit twice! When I was the resident entertainer, DJ and hostess for 3 years at gay bar "the Secret Garden" in Stockholm, I produced and wore four original looks per week. All were not as elaborate as the ones I design nowadays but nevertheless they were originals and I learned a lot during those years. Of course I do remakes of older outfits, recycle and remakes with new twists but I have always pushed myself to try to create something new with Imaa. Sometimes I think I go too far with it, but as long as I have fun, why not.

What is the first thing you performed in?

The first thing i performed was a lip-sync at legendary gay bar "Torget" in Stockholm. I was about 18-19 and had mostly done drag at parties and occasional hosting at that point. Torget was in business for almost 15 years and used to have an open stage for drag performers. I remember that I did the swedish diva Lena PH's "Idiot". It was a totally horrible performance. I enjoyed performing though. But I don't think the performance left a big impression on the audience. However they must have remembered the fishy look I brought and definately they remembered my signature tiara that I always wore back then. It happens that people remind me of that time - with a smile!

What are you working on that no one knows about yet?

Well, I don't know if I can tell you because I might have to kill you afterwards. But I'll let you in on a little secret. We are in negotiations to take our current show on a road trip… Apart from that I’m totally transparent. If you follow my instagram you will always be able to watch what I’m currently working on. So go follow my instagram for all my future endeavors.
